Therapeutic Services

We believe healing begins with safety and connection.

Safety, Support, Connection

At SAFE on Main, we believe healing begins with safety, support, and connection. Our therapeutic services are designed to help survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse process trauma, build resilience, and move toward healthy, empowered futures. Through counseling, support groups, and educational programs, we provide compassionate services tailored to the unique needs of those we serve.

Individual Therapy

Short-Term Therapy is available at no cost to survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse through the services of a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Trauma Professional. Survivors can expect psychoeducation regarding domestic violence and sexual abuse, cognitive behavioral therapy to aid in the processing of current circumstances, and motivational interviewing to help with transitions to safe spaces and new opportunities. Therapy services are intended for a short-term engagement and are available for: current clients of SAFE on Main, individuals actively seeking services through the agency, and referrals.

Support Group

The Hope & Healing Connection is a weekly confidential support group for women who are survivors of domestic violence. Participants are carefully screened by SAFE on Main staff before logistics are shared. Women can expect support and encouragement from other survivors as well as psychoeducation from a licensed therapist who facilitates the group.

SAFE Relationships

SAFE Relationships is a 26-week structured group program for men who have been arrested for domestic violence. It is designed to reduce recidivism, while promoting healthier relationship behaviors. Participants attend group sessions that combine educational content with psychoeducational counseling.

The educational portion focuses on recognizing and replacing harmful thinking patterns and behaviors with healthier alternatives. The counseling component encourages participants to examine personal values, beliefs, and thought patterns that may contribute to abuse, while building practical skills in conflict resolution and communication.

This is a referral only program with referrals issued by the court system.
