Community Based Prevention
To stop violence before it starts, we have to meet people where they actually spend their time: in their homes, jobs, and daily routines. Because abuse is a serious issue that impacts everyone, our programs focus on creating change across four key areas: the individual, the family, the neighborhood, and the local system. By working across all of these levels simultaneously, we can shift everyday behaviors and create a community where everyone can thrive safely.
Initiatives

SAFE at Work
SAFE at Work is a program offered to community partners and local businesses for increasing awareness to the impact of domestic and sexual violence on the workplace. We help leadership and staff identify ways to safely address issues of DV/IPV/SV in the workplace and to support and empower survivors. Our SAFE at Work initiative helps employers who are in a position to help survivors maintain their job while allowing them access to safety and support.

Community Table
A partnership between SAFE on Main and local partners addressing the intersection of sexual violence and food insecurity. By expanding access to healthy food, support services, and community resources, WCCT works to improve health outcomes and reduce violence. These efforts directly support local initiatives, including the Warren County Health District’s Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) and Assessment (CHA).

Prevention in the Park
PIP is a 6 week program in select Warren County parks. We partner with different county and city parks departments and facilitate weekly activities for children 0-8 years old. Our activities are family oriented and foster healthy child/caregiver connections through activities and crafts centered on kindness and well-being.

Storybook Stroll
SAFE on Main storybook strolls support healthy children, families, and communities as an environmental strategy to improve and bolster literacy and improve physical health. Our stories are posted on trails and paths across various Warren County and city parks and encourage families to spend time together, outdoors, and reading together for enjoyment.
Community Partners
Building a safer community is a shared responsibility, which is why SAFE on Main Education & Outreach is dedicated to collaborative partnerships. We engage with local coalitions to co-create initiatives, pool community expertise, and address the root causes of violence. From organizing specialized safety events for the Warren and Clinton County Boards of Developmental Disabilities to strengthening civic trust alongside law enforcement at National Night Out, our goal is to weave safety, education, and advocacy into the very fabric of our county.
