History

Providing services to survivors in Warren County since 1984.

For over four decades, the heart of our organization has remained the same, even as our name and scope have evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. Since our founding in 1984 as the Warren County Family Abuse Shelter, our core purpose has been clear: providing a lifeline for those in crisis. As we grew, so did our identity, transitioning to the Abuse & Rape Crisis Shelter in 1997 to better reflect our support for sexual violence survivors, and expanding in 2001 to champion prevention through the Violence Free Coalition. In 2022, we rebranded as SAFE on Main, a name that encapsulates our promise to Stop Abuse for Everyone. While our name may have changed, our dedication to supporting survivors and building a violence-free Warren County remains our unwavering mission.
